Why Institutions Choose ETH: Stability, Reliability, and Unmatched Security Drive Adoption

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, emphasized during a CNBC interview in Cannes on July 5th that institutional investors prioritize stability and reliability over mere scalability and speed. Contrary to popular belief, many institutions value Ethereum for its consistent uptime and robust performance, highlighting its resilience as a critical factor in adoption.

At the recent EthCC conference, Buterin outlined Ethereum’s strategic development roadmap, focusing on the “value test” institutions apply when evaluating blockchain networks. He noted that privacy features and future-proof functionalities are key concerns for institutional stakeholders, reflecting a shift towards long-term utility rather than short-term gains.

Tomasz Stańczak, the newly appointed joint executive director of the Ethereum Foundation, reinforced this perspective by citing Ethereum’s decade-long track record of uninterrupted service and continuous security enhancements. He stressed that institutions demand transactional fairness and precision, ensuring orders are executed without bias or delay, a crucial requirement as stablecoins and tokenized assets gain prominence in financial markets.
