Twitter’s Cryptocurrency Service Initiative!
Social trading and multi-asset investment company eToro announced today that it is preparing to offer cryptocurrency and other asset trading services directly to Twitter users through a new partnership with the social media company.
The new service, called “$Cashtags,” will be available from today and will provide real-time prices for cryptocurrencies, stocks, and other assets to Twitter users while directing them to the eToro platform to invest.
The news was first reported by CNBC and then confirmed by eToro on its official Twitter account. $Cashtags is compatible with Twitter owner Elon Musk’s plans to integrate financial services into the platform as part of his intention to create a “super app.”
eToro CEO and founder Yoni Assia confirmed the partnership on Twitter. Assia was reported to have said:
“There is instant high-quality content on companies’ financial analysis and what is happening around the world. This partnership will allow us to reach new audiences with the Twitter and eToro brands and help us make better connections.”
Musk had previously said he wanted Twitter’s proposed payment system to include both cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies.
