Binance Seeks 60-Day Stay in SEC Case Amid New Cryptocurrency Working Group Developments

According to a report by FOX journalist Eleanor Terrett, Binance and the U.S. SEC have filed a joint motion to request a 60-day stay in their ongoing case. The request stems from the establishment of the SEC’s new cryptocurrency working group, which may significantly influence the outcome of the proceedings. As stated, “The work of this group may affect and facilitate the potential resolution of this case.” Following the two-month duration of the stay, both parties plan to issue a joint status report to assess the necessity of extending the stay further. Terrett anticipates that this procedural approach might set a precedent for other pending non-fraud cases, such as those involving Ripple, Coinbase, and Kraken, potentially leading to similar resolutions in their respective legal matters.
