On February 14th, COINOTAG News reported a critical alert from the SlowMist Security Team. They identified two suspicious transactions that exploited similar vulnerabilities across the Ethereum (ETH) and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) networks. The potential flaw lies in the affected contract’s inability to properly validate incoming parameters within its swap function, which may have led to the creation of malicious tokens by cyber attackers seeking to profit illicitly. Notably, these contracts are not open source, which raises concerns regarding transparency and security audits. As a result, SlowMist has urged users to maintain heightened awareness of their asset security practices, emphasizing the importance of conducting due diligence when interacting with decentralized finance platforms.
