Indian Supreme Court YouTube Channel Hacked to Promote XRP Scam, Says Ripple CEO

On September 21, the YouTube channel of the Indian Supreme Court experienced a significant security breach, as reported by COINOTAG. The channel was compromised to promote a fraudulent scheme involving XRP cryptocurrency instead of streaming its regular live hearings. Consequently, the channel was taken offline for a short period, but service was resumed by the end of the day. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse promptly addressed the incident, asserting: β€œRipple and its executives will never request XRP from users. It is distressing to witness scammers exploiting and deceiving unsuspecting cryptocurrency holders, while social media platforms permit such activities. Stay vigilant and protect yourself.” The situation underscores the persistent threat of cyber fraud within the cryptocurrency sector, urging users to exercise caution and verify information diligently.
