COINOTAG News, February 10th: Japanese publicly traded firm Metaplanet has unveiled its fiscal year 2024 performance report, revealing unrealized gains from its Bitcoin investments amounting to $35 million (approximately 5.46 billion yen). By the end of 2024, the company’s Bitcoin holdings totaled 1,761 BTC, with a cumulative acquisition cost of $137 million. Metaplanet has set ambitious targets to expand its holdings to 10,000 BTC by the conclusion of 2025 and to 21,000 BTC by the end of 2026. This strategic accumulation is being funded through the issuance of secured bonds, convertible bonds, equity financing, and operational cash flows. Additionally, Metaplanet experienced a significant 500% surge in its shareholder count in 2024, reaching 50,000 investors. Reflecting investor confidence, the company’s stock price rose by 8% on Monday, marking a remarkable 64% increase year-to-date.
