COINOTAG News reported on May 6th that Ethereum developer @nero_eth has released a comprehensive analysis regarding the Delayed Execution phenomenon and its associated Free DA Issue. The Delayed Execution mechanism (EIP-7886) significantly alters how validators confirm block validity, requiring a series of preliminary checks—such as nonce verification and account balance assessment—before transactions are finalized. A key finding is that if a transaction fails during execution due to an insufficient balance, its data is still recorded on the blockchain. This leads to the Free DA Issue, wherein invalid transactions utilize on-chain data resources while validators receive no compensation. To mitigate these challenges, the article outlines four potential solutions: optimistic verification, pre-validation with pre-charge mechanisms, establishing pre-charge entities, and implementing no-ops at the execution layer. These strategies aim to alleviate network congestion and protect economic interests by introducing pre-deducted fees, block reorganizations, or state rollbacks.
