According to PeckShield analysis, the first quarter of 2025 has witnessed over 60 hacking incidents in the cryptocurrency sector, leading to substantial financial ramifications totaling approximately $1.63 billion. This figure represents a staggering increase of 131% compared to the $706 million lost during the same period in 2024. Notably, March experienced 20 distinct hacks, aggregating losses of around $33.46 million. Among these breaches, a significant incident involved 1inch, which faced a hack valued at $5 million. Fortunately, around 90% of the stolen assets have been successfully recovered. This trend highlights the urgent need for enhanced security measures within the crypto ecosystem as well as increased vigilance from investors and platforms alike.
