COINOTAG News on October 14, citing ChainNews, reported an alleged hacker executed a round‑trip trade that re‑purchased 9,240 ETH (approximately $39.45M), realizing a net gain of 280 ETH (about $1.18M) driven by an ETH price swing.

According to the on‑chain data referenced, on September 1 the address withdrew 8,960 ETH from the Tornado Cash mixer and sold at roughly $4,382, converting proceeds into ~39.264 million DAI. Approximately five hours ago the same wallet repurchased 9,240 ETH at about $4,269.

The transaction sequence—withdrawal from a mixer, conversion to stablecoin and subsequent repurchase—produced a realized net of 280 ETH, highlighting intra‑period price volatility in Ethereum markets.
