Backpack Exchange Becomes First Centralized Platform to Trade Native On‑Chain Stocks Alongside Cryptocurrencies and Stablecoins

According to official statements on October 15, centralized exchange Backpack.exchange has announced a partnership with fintech firm Superstate to introduce native on-chain stocks into its trading environment. The deal integrates Superstate’s Opening Bell on-chain stock platform into Backpack, enabling SEC-registered listed equities to trade alongside cryptocurrencies and stablecoins with unified order handling and cross-margin mechanics.

Structured and issued by Superstate as an SEC-registered transfer agent, these on-chain equities retain the same CUSIP identifiers as Nasdaq and NYSE listings, providing investors direct ownership, potential dividends, and voting rights. The arrangement preserves centralized compliance while creating a practical avenue for future DeFi interoperability via the Backpack wallet.
