Binance Lobbying Boom in Washington: Checkmate Nets $7.1M in 3 Months as CZ Pardon Quest and Goody Guillén Fees Rise

According to Politico’s latest report, Ches McDowell, a hunting partner of Donald Trump Jr. and founder of Checkmate Government Relations, has risen to Washington’s top lobbyists. The firm opened a D.C. office this year and posted about $7.1 million in revenue over the past three months, signaling rapid policy-scale execution.

Disclosure filings show Binance retained McDowell at the end of September to press on financial policy and administrative relief priorities with the White House and Treasury. The client has paid $450,000 to Checkmate for the last month of work.

Earlier this year, Binance and founder CZ enlisted prominent crypto attorney Teresa Goody Guillén. Filings show she has billed Binance and CZ about $290,000 so far this year, and she was once discussed as a potential SEC chair. McDowell and Goody Guillén have not commented.
