In a recent analysis by Ki Young Ju, founder of CryptoQuant, the outlook on Bitcoin’s market trajectory has evolved significantly. Ju acknowledged his earlier assessment from two months ago regarding the climax of the BTC bull market as flawed. Recent on-chain metrics indicate that BTC selling pressure is diminishing, as a wave of institutional investments, particularly through ETFs, reshapes market dynamics.
Historically, the Bitcoin marketplace was primarily dominated by traditional players such as whales, miners, and retail investors, allowing for easier identification of market peaks. However, the entry of institutional players, including MicroStrategy and various government entities, has disrupted this established paradigm. Ju pointed out that the classic framework of “whale sales defining market tops” is increasingly obsolete.
He urged stakeholders to focus more on the influx of institutional capital rather than relying on historical selling pressure indicators. This shift emphasizes the growing importance of institutional involvement in determining Bitcoin’s market direction, highlighting a transformative period for the cryptocurrency landscape.
