Bitwise Donates $150,000 to Support Bitcoin Open-Source Development

On February 18th, cryptocurrency asset management firm Bitwise announced its contribution of $150,000 aimed at bolstering the efforts of Bitcoin open-source developers. This initiative surfaces as part of Bitwise’s longstanding pledge to allocate 10% of its gross profits annually since the inception of the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB). In this inaugural donation, the company highlighted its commitment to fostering innovation within the blockchain community. The financial support will be distributed among three key organizations: Brink, OpenSats, and the Human Rights Foundation, each playing a vital role in maintaining and advancing open-source Bitcoin development. This strategic investment underscores Bitwise’s dedication to enhancing the ecosystem while promoting the values of transparency and community empowerment inherent in the cryptocurrency sector.
