CFTC Names Aptos Co-Founder Avery Ching to GMAC Digital Asset Market Subcommittee, Elevating Aptos’ Regulatory Influence

Caroline D. Pham, Acting Chairman of the CFTC, announced the newly constituted membership of the Global Markets Advisory Committee and its subcommittees, and formally congratulated Avery Ching, Co‑Founder and CEO of Aptos Labs, on his appointment to the Digital Asset Market Subcommittee.

The GMAC serves as a principal advisory body to the CFTC, bringing together expertise from both traditional finance and the digital‑asset sector to inform regulatory policy and cross‑border market structure discussions. Pham highlighted planned collaboration with industry figures including Scott Lucas of JPMorgan and Sandy Kaul of Franklin Templeton to support orderly market development.

Avery Ching brings more than a decade of infrastructure experience, having led blockchain and wallet implementation work on the Diem project at Meta prior to founding Aptos Labs. His appointment reflects increasing participation of Web3 builders in formal regulatory dialogue.
