Chainlink, in collaboration with JPMorgan’s Kinexys and Ondo Finance, has successfully executed a pioneering cross-chain Delivery versus Payment (DvP) settlement test, as reported by COINOTAG on June 12, referencing Cointelegraph. This milestone demonstrates seamless asset swaps between a permissioned payment network and a public blockchain testnet, marking significant progress in blockchain interoperability.
The trial leveraged Kinexys Digital Payments, a JPMorgan-operated permissioned network, alongside Ondo Chain’s testnet, which specializes in the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA). Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Runtime Environment (CRE), an advanced off-chain computation layer, orchestrated the settlement process, ensuring secure and efficient cross-chain communication.
The transaction centered on Ondo’s tokenized U.S. Treasury fund, OUSG, which was exchanged via the Kinexys platform, underscoring the practical application of tokenized financial instruments in institutional-grade blockchain ecosystems. This development highlights the growing adoption of cross-chain solutions to enhance liquidity and operational efficiency in decentralized finance (DeFi).
