Copper Founder Tokarev Launches Bron Labs Self-Custody Platform to Secure Digital Assets, Raises $15M

Bloomberg reports that Dmitry Tokarev, founder of Copper, is pursuing the formation of Bron Labs, a venture aimed at addressing rising security risks in self-managed digital assets. Bron Labs is described as a self-custody platform designed to deliver enhanced protection for both individual holders and professional clients navigating crypto portfolios.

According to sources, Bron Labs closed a funding round earlier this year totaling roughly $15 million, with backing from investors such as LocalGlobe, Fasanara Digital, and GSR, underscoring demand for durable custody solutions in a fragmented crypto security market.

Separately, Copper confirmed leadership changes, naming Amar Kuchinad, a former Goldman Sachs Managing Director, to succeed Tokarev as CEO of the group, signaling a shift toward institutional-grade crypto custody strategy.
