CZ Pushes Crypto Industry to End Address Poisoning with Real-Time Blacklists, Highlighting Binance Wallet’s Malicious Address Warnings

Binance founder CZ outlined a security-forward vision on Binance Square, arguing that the crypto industry must enable wallets to detect and block poisoned addresses. He described a blockchain query framework that can verify recipient addresses in real time and urged security alliances to maintain live blacklists.

Binance Wallet has already implemented these safeguards; when a user attempts to send funds to a flagged address, a cautionary notice appears. The approach supports real-time checks prior to transaction submission, and the ecosystem may also filter out spam transactions or ultra-low-value transfers from display.

Adoption will rely on cross-industry cooperation, standardized interfaces, and robust user privacy. If widely deployed, this framework could strengthen wallet security, improve user trust, and reduce the risk of address poisoning across digital asset networks.
