COINOTAG News reported on June 8th that during the 213th Ethereum All Core Developers Meeting (ACDE), key updates were shared by Tim Beiko. The team decided to delay the Gas Limit increase to 60 million, pending results from the Berlinterop test, which aims to provide precise data on throughput and latency. Current projections estimate that execution times could extend up to three seconds in the worst-case scenario.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted progress from the Glamsterdam brainstorming session, focusing on enhancing network resilience. One notable development is the implementation of FOCIL across five Ethereum clients, designed to mitigate risks associated with mempool inspection. This initiative is expected to strengthen transaction privacy and security.
Further, the introduction of EVM64 promises accelerated execution speeds by leveraging a 64-bit algorithm. While benchmark testing is still underway, this upgrade could significantly optimize Ethereum’s virtual machine performance, marking a critical step in the network’s evolution.
