COINOTAG News reported on January 10 that Christine Kim, Vice President of Galaxy Research, shared insights from the 148th Ethereum Core Developer Meeting. During this session, developers reached a consensus to name the upcoming **Ethereum Consensus Layer** (ECL) upgrade after the impressive celestial entity known as **Gloas**. Parithosh Jayanthi, an engineer at the Ethereum Foundation (EF), highlighted a critical issue in the ECL specification that must be addressed prior to the anticipated launch of **Pectra Devnet 5**. Moreover, recent updates to client testing for both **Execution Layer (EL)** and ECL have shown favorable results, with a majority of clients performing effectively in these rigorous assessments. This progress underscores the ongoing commitment by Ethereum developers to enhance network functionality and stability as they forge ahead with critical upgrades.
