Ethereum Staking: 2.639M ETH Await 45-Day Unstake as Kiln Initiates 10–42 Day Validator Shutdown

COINOTAG reported on September 14, citing Validator Queue Tracking, that the Ethereum PoS network currently has approximately 2.639 million ETH queued for unstaking, corresponding to an estimated exit delay of 45 days 15 hours; the ETH staking queue for new deposits stands near 620,000 ETH, with an estimated wait of 10 days 18 hours.

According to a September 10 announcement from Kiln, prompted by the SwissBorg breach that resulted in an approximate $41 million SOL loss, Kiln will commence an orderly shutdown of its Ethereum validation nodes beginning September 10, 2025. The provider expects the exit process to take between 10 and 42 days, plus an additional 9 days allocated for withdrawals as a precaution.

Kiln indicated that rewards will continue to accrue during the exit window, reported no indications of further fund compromise, has temporarily suspended select services, and is strengthening infrastructure; a detailed post-process report will be published as the team closely monitors staker security.
