According to CoinDesk, COINOTAG News reports that Ethereum developers are preparing to roll out the network’s second upgrade of 2025 on the Ethereum mainnet on December 3, a Wednesday. The update, dubbed Fusaka—a portmanteau of Fulu and Osaka—will synchronize upgrades to the consensus layer and execution layer.
The upgrade aims to boost throughput by enabling faster interoperability with Layer 2 networks built atop Ethereum, improving scalability and reducing gas costs. Fusaka comprises 12 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) designed to streamline the Layer 2 user experience and lower execution costs.
By aligning the consensus layer and execution layer pathways, Fusaka seeks to deepen cross-layer efficiency and support higher transaction volumes on Layer 2 ecosystems built atop Ethereum. The upgrade’s emphasis on speed and cost efficiency aligns with Ethereum’s broader scaling roadmap.
