On May 25th, during the recent Ethereum All Core Developers Meeting (ACDE), summarized by Tim Beiko, critical updates were unveiled concerning the blockchain’s development roadmap. A pivotal highlight is the anticipated launch of Fusaka Devnet-0 on May 26th, which aims to pave the way for significant enhancements in Ethereum’s infrastructure. Important discussions revolved around proposed Enhancement Proposals (EIPs), including EIP-7825, which aims to establish a new transaction gas limit of 30 million, and EIP-7918, designed to link Blob fees to the Base Fee, effectively controlling fee volatility. These proposals are slated for inclusion in the upcoming Devnet-1. Furthermore, a comprehensive testnet strategy was established, highlighting the importance of community-engaged long-term testnets and an initial fork at Sepolia for application testing. Looking ahead, the next developer call is expected to finalize plans for EIP-7917 and further shape discussions for Devnet-2 and the forthcoming Glamsterdam update.
