According to COINOTAG news dated October 9, former FTX executive Ryan Salame has made a legal appeal to the court regarding his impending incarceration. In documentation provided to the court, Salame’s attorney has requested a postponement of his voluntary surrender from October 11 to December 7, 2024, to facilitate ongoing medical treatment following a serious dog bite incident. The court had previously granted a delay from August to October for Salame to undergo emergency surgery related to the injuries sustained. Despite these claims, it appears the government is opposed to this request. Currently, Salame is set to begin serving a seven-and-a-half-year sentence, marking him as the second executive from the fallen cryptocurrency exchange FTX to face imprisonment, following the lengthy sentence imposed on Sam Bankman-Fried in March 2023. The legal repercussions extend to other FTX executives, with upcoming sentencing dates for Nishad Singh and Gary Wang later this month.
