On May 6th, COINOTAG reported the unveiling of the SNS token by the Solana ecosystem domain service sns.sol, a former branch of Bonfida. Initially, the FIDA token was launched five years ago, tightly coupled with the Serum DEX. Its design was heavily influenced by the Serum ecosystem’s architecture. However, as the SNS protocol evolved, the inadequacies of FIDA’s tokenomics became increasingly evident, underscoring a disconnect with the actual needs of the .sol domain holders.
The disparity between the SNS community and FIDA holders has highlighted the inefficiencies in FIDA’s distribution, which diverged from the long-term objectives of the SNS initiative. Recognizing that past growth factors had become impediments, the team is now focused on creating robust incentives for .sol domain holders through a new inclusive framework. Future updates will elucidate details regarding distribution, claiming mechanisms, and participation for users connected to the .sol domain.
