Jun Ji-hyun’s Husband Faces $11.66M Loss in Wemade Cryptocurrency Investment

Jun Ji-hyun’s husband, Choi Jun-hyuk, CEO of Alpha Asset Management, has reportedly incurred a substantial paper loss following his investment in Wemade shares. The firm acquired shares at prices of 34,894 and 63,887 Korean won in late 2023 and early 2024, investing a total of 35 billion Korean won. However, by June 2nd, Wemade’s stock price had declined to 25,000 Korean won, leading to an estimated unrealized loss of approximately 15.8 billion Korean won (around $11.66 million). This development has attracted significant attention on Weibo, ranking 29th in trending searches. The situation underscores the volatility inherent in cryptocurrency-related equities and highlights the risks associated with concentrated investments in the digital asset sector. Market participants are advised to consider such fluctuations when evaluating exposure to blockchain and gaming-related stocks.
