COINOTAG reported on August 20, citing Decrypt, that Australian auction house Lloyds will offer more than 280 Bitcoin-related domain names as a single lot. The portfolio includes generic addresses like BitcoinWallets.com, BitcoinExchanges.com and JapanBitcoin.com, with some registrations dating back to 2010, positioning these assets as consolidated Bitcoin domains within the digital namespace.
According to the report, the auction requires buyer pre-qualification and supports payment in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Lloyds did not disclose a specific valuation, indicating institutional-style due diligence and multiple settlement options that reflect developments in crypto payments.
The offering follows Lloyds’ prior sale of XBT.com for $3 million; the auction house described the batch as representing the “Bitcoin digital economic language,” framing the sale as a significant single-lot domain auction of legacy crypto-related web addresses.
