MetaMask Expands to Multi-Chain Accounts with 30x Faster Asset Loading on Ethereum

MetaMask has announced the rollout of multi-chain accounts, along with a substantial rise in asset loading speed—reportedly up to 30x faster, according to COINOTAG News on October 28. The update enhances cross-network accessibility for users.

Originally a wallet dedicated to the Ethereum ecosystem, the product line gradually added Ethereum Layer 2 compatibility (Arbitrum, Optimism, zkSync) and other EVM-compatible networks. Through the Snap plugin framework, it connects to non-EVM ecosystems.

Architectural refinements now enable native support for non-EVM networks, including Solana, with plans to extend to other major chains such as Bitcoin in the near term.
