SEC’s October Crypto ETF Showdown: Litecoin (LTC) ETF Faces Oct. 2 Decision Amid 16 Altcoin Filings

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) faces a concentrated approval timetable in October as it evaluates 16 proposed spot crypto ETFs. Key regulatory deadlines include Canary’s LTC ETF on October 2, Grayscale’s Solana and LTC trust conversion filings on October 10, and WisdomTree’s XRP fund on October 24. Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart notes that formal decisions may be issued at any point prior to those final dates, underscoring the compressed approval window market participants are monitoring.

Market strategists highlight that approvals would materially broaden institutional access and could alter short-term capital allocation to altcoins such as DOGE, Solana and XRP. Bitfinex analysts, in August commentary, suggested ETF greenlights may support renewed investor interest, while urging continued emphasis on liquidity, custody standards and regulatory compliance when assessing portfolio risk.
