SEC’s Spring Sprint: Upcoming Roundtable Discussions on Cryptocurrency Regulation and Clarity

On March 26th, COINOTAG reported that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is initiating a series of significant discussions aimed at enhancing regulatory clarity within the cryptocurrency sector. Spanning from April to June 2025, these roundtables will address critical issues such as crypto trading, custody, asset tokenization, and decentralized finance (DeFi). SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce characterized this initiative as a “spring sprint toward crypto clarity,” signaling the SEC’s shift from a primarily enforcement-focused approach to fostering collaboration and developing a robust regulatory framework. These sessions will be publicly accessible and live-streamed, enabling broader engagement. The schedule includes April 11th focusing on “Tailored Regulation for Crypto Trading”, April 25th discussing “Key Issues for Custodial Institutions”, May 12th examining “On-Chain Assets and Traditional Finance Integration”, and concluding on June 6th with “DeFi and the American Spirit”.
