On September 29, COINOTAG revealed that stablecoin issuer Tether collaborated with the U.S. Department of Justice to freeze over 6 million USDT. This action targeted a Southeast Asian project that deceived individuals by mimicking legitimate platforms. Throughout the past year, Tether has been instrumental in aiding U.S. law enforcement in several instances, successfully seizing almost 9 million USDT and an additional 5 million USDT to dismantle fraudulent operations, such as the notorious “pig-killing” schemes.
