This comprehensive plan identifies four principal categories of privacy solutions: on-chain payment privacy, partial application-layer anonymity, privacy for on-chain reads (including RPC calls), and network-level anonymity. These targeted measures are intended to complement Ethereum’s long-term strategy, potentially incorporating significant changes to Layer 1, the deployment of application-specific privacy-preserving rollups, and other advanced functionalities.
The roadmap emphasizes the importance of integrating privacy tools like Railgun, advocating for a default model of “one address per app.” Furthermore, it includes proposals for implementing FOCIL and EIP-7701, aiming to facilitate default privacy transactions and ensure unlinkability of cross-application activity.
