WazirX Hacker Launders Last 3,792 ETH Through Tornado Cash, Nears Completion of $230M Heist

According to a recent report by COINOTAG on September 25, data from Spot On Chain has revealed that the WazirX attacker has transferred the remaining 3,792 ETH, equivalent to $9.93 million, to a fresh wallet identified as “0xa6e.” This new wallet is currently channeling ETH to Tornado Cash. The incident traces back to July 18, 2024, when the hacker initially exfiltrated $230 million from WazirX, subsequently converting the majority of the stolen assets into 61,700 ETH. Since September 3, the hacker has leveraged this new wallet for money laundering purposes, and it appears they are nearing the conclusion of this illicit activity after 22 days.
