McHenry, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, accused #SEC Chairman Gensler of “refusing to provide clarity” and “regulating through sanctions” in regulating digital assets.
Is Ethereum a Commodity or Security?
Commission Chairman McHenry:
“I’m asking a specific question, Chairman Gensler. Don’t be surprised if I’m asking that question. Is #Ethereum a commodity or a security?”
SEC Chairman Gensler was unable to give a clear answer to the question.
House of Representatives Waters repeated the question to say what  Ethereum was, but Gensler again avoided answering the question.
