Binance Traces and Freezes FLOW Hack Funds, Urges Flow (FLOW) to Publish Post-Mortem and Strengthen Security
Binance has issued an update on the Flow (FLOW) network security incident that unfolded on December 27, 2025, when a vulnerability enabled unlawful token minting. The exchange acted swiftly and has frozen the remaining hacker funds on its platform to shield Flow token holders.
Despite repeated outreach from Binance to the Flow project team, there has been no substantive collaboration since the breach, according to the update.
If an independent on-chain recovery route is pursued, it should exclude addresses from major CEX platforms—including the Binance wallet—since affected users on other exchanges have already been compensated.
Binance urges a comprehensive post-mortem detailing root causes and preventive measures, and it stands ready to provide security support to bolster the Flow ecosystem’s defenses.
