Robinhood Expands into Indonesia by Acquiring Buana Capital and PT Pedagang Aset Kripto, Accelerating Southeast Asia’s Crypto Market

According to COINOTAG News on December 8, Robinhood Markets, Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire Buana Capital, a licensed Indonesian brokerage, alongside PT Pedagang Aset Kripto, a regulated digital asset trading platform. The deal marks Robinhood‘s formal entry into the Indonesian market and supports a broader push into Southeast Asia and global growth. By combining local brokerage licensing with a compliant crypto trading venue, the transaction positions Robinhood to scale its digital asset trading capability in Indonesia and strengthen regulatory alignment in the region.

Pieter Tanuri, the principal shareholder of Buana Capital and PT Pedagang Aset Kripto, will continue to serve in a strategic advisory role to Robinhood, preserving leadership continuity as the integration proceeds.
