Bitcoin Transfers Undergo Noticeable Growth

Bitcoin experienced an exceptional increase in transaction activity over the past week, aligning perfectly with a significant surge in its price. What happened to its price and other key metrics following this notable success?

According to IntoTheBlock, the reported number of Bitcoin transactions reached approximately 703,000. Moreover, not only was this figure the highest recorded within 2023, but it also represented the highest transaction volume in nearly two years.

It’s important to note that this surge in transactions coincided with Bitcoin’s price reaching the $26,000 mark.

How Did the Volume Perform?

An examination of the Bitcoin volume metric presented by Santiment revealed an interesting observation: there was no corresponding increase in volume to match the surge in transactions on September 15th.

The graph also showed that the volume remained relatively stable at around $12.7 billion during this period. However, it later experienced a decrease, dropping to approximately $6.7 billion on September 17th. As of the time of writing, the volume had surpassed $15 billion.

Immediate Impact on Active Addresses

Interestingly, the increase in Bitcoin transactions had an immediate effect on daily active addresses. When examining the daily active address metric on Santiment, it was revealed that on September 15th, the count exceeded 1.2 million, marking the highest recorded daily active address count in almost eight months. At the time of writing, there were more than 300,000 daily active addresses, and this number continues to rise as the day progresses.
