On December 10th, COINOTAG reported significant developments in the cryptocurrency sector with the self-custody application Relai successfully completing a $12 million Series A funding round. This investment was spearheaded by Ego Death Capital, a venture capital firm specializing in Bitcoin, which contributed $4 million. Other notable investors included the Plan B Bitcoin Fund, Timechain, and Solit Group. By adopting a common equity structure for this round, Relai maintains consistency with its previous funding approach.
This latest funding initiative elevates Relai’s cumulative investment to nearly $20 million and enhances its valuation from $60 million to an impressive $72 million. The Relai application has garnered significant traction, achieving 450,000 downloads and retaining 140,000 active users, defined by at least one transaction over the past four years, alongside 70,000 registered users and 35,000 monthly active users. This growth underscores the increasing adoption of cryptocurrency solutions.
