Nubit has officially launched the Bitcoin Alpha mission system, marking a significant milestone for the Bitcoin Lightning Network. This initiative is accessible to all Bitcoin users, offering early participants a 10x multiplier bonus on mission points, incentivizing active engagement within the network. Earlier this month, the integration of the USD1 stablecoin by the Trump family’s WLFI project into the Lightning Network further underscores its growing adoption, with over 4 million on-chain transactions and a user base exceeding 250,000.
As the sole native acceleration solution for Bitcoin and the exclusive channel for stablecoin circulation, the Lightning Network’s Bitcoin Alpha program aims to foster ecosystem growth by encouraging users to earn Alpha points through network participation. Over 50 projects have already applied for the first phase, leveraging the network’s enhanced payment speed and programmability features, signaling a robust expansion unseen in over a decade.
Notably, HSBC Bank disclosed on April 15th that the Lightning Network implemented a mainnet soft fork introducing UTXO Bundling and OP_CAT instructions. These upgrades enable native asset issuance, transaction acceleration, and smart validation, boosting network efficiency by up to 2000 times. This advancement, driven by early Bitcoin miners, core developers, and the Nubit team, positions the Lightning Network as a pivotal infrastructure for Bitcoin’s future scalability and utility.
