In an official roadmap update, Aave V4 is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of this year, according to protocol communications. The announcement frames the deployment as a planned protocol upgrade with defined testing and governance milestones.
The upgrade will incorporate the ERC-4626 standard for asset accounting, a token interface that standardizes yield-bearing vault behavior. By exposing a consistent API for a single underlying ERC-20 share, ERC-4626 is intended to enhance on-chain accounting, composability and precision in risk modeling for yield-bearing collateral vaults.
Aave’s roadmap also details a modular Hub-and-Spoke architecture to control system complexity while improving operational and capital efficiency. The design aims to enable targeted upgrades, clearer risk isolation and more efficient liquidity routing across protocol markets.
