Phala Network Proposes Ending Polkadot Parachain (Slot Expires Nov 20, 2025) to Fully Migrate to Ethereum Layer 2 with Intel TDX + GPU Confidential Computing

COINOTAG News reported on September 30 that decentralized off‑chain computing infrastructure Phala Network has submitted a governance proposal to terminate its Polkadot parachain slot ahead of the scheduled expiry on November 20, 2025, and to execute a full migration to an Ethereum Layer 2 environment.

The proposal cites alignment with Intel‘s roadmap—namely TDX and GPU confidential computing—and a strategic move toward the broader EVM ecosystem, aiming to leverage confidential compute capabilities and established EVM developer tooling without making unverified claims about future performance.

Approval would trigger formal parachain cessation procedures and a governance vote; stakeholders and operators should evaluate the migration timeline and assess potential effects on staking, interoperability, and operational costs in light of the parachain slot expiry.
