Ethereum’s Fusaka Upgrade Nears Mainnet With 60M Block Gas, 16.77M Single-Transaction Limit and PeerDAS Rollout on Testnets

COINOTAG News, citing Cointelegraph, reports that Ethereum is entering the final testnet phase ahead of the Fusaka upgrade scheduled for December 3. The update targets improved block efficiency and parallelization, and has already activated on the Holesky and Sepolia testnets.

Under EIP-7825, the default block gas limit rises to 60 million, while the single-transaction cap sits near 16.77–16.78 million units. The upgrade also introduces PeerDAS, enabling data-availability sampling for second-layer blocks to reduce hardware requirements without compromising security.

The next phase is slated for the Hoodi testnet on October 28, with a mainnet launch expected in December 2025. This Fusaka progression follows the Dencun and Pectra milestones in Ethereum’s roadmap.
