BC Card Completes Stablecoin Payment Pilot, Enabling Foreign Users to Pay Korean Merchants with Stablecoins

BC Card announced the completion of a pilot enabling foreign users to settle transactions with stablecoins at South Korea’s domestic merchants, converting stablecoins held in overseas wallets into BC Card-issued digital prepaid cards at the point of sale.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Wavebridge, Aaron Group, and Global Money Express, illustrating a practical model for cross-border crypto payments that links wallets to everyday commerce.

BC Card remains a leading payment network in South Korea, handling over a fifth of card transactions across more than 3.4 million domestic merchants; KT Corporation is its largest shareholder.
