Our Ethical Commitment
Code of Ethics
Sets out COINOTAG's commitments to editorial independence, integrity and transparency: the no-pay-for-coverage rule, conflict-of-interest disclosure, source protection, our responsibility to publish corrections, and viewpoint diversity.
1. Editorial Independence
Decisions about what COINOTAG covers, when and how are made on editorial grounds alone. No article, analysis or piece of coverage can be bought or steered by an advertiser, sponsor, exchange, project team or investor. Commercial relationships are kept structurally separate from editorial decision-making, and nothing other than news value shapes our publishing agenda.
2. No Pay-for-Coverage
COINOTAG does not accept payment in exchange for favorable stories, reviews or "coverage". We do not solicit money or any other benefit to publish, amend or take down a piece of content. Advertising and sponsored content are published only when clearly labeled (for example "Sponsored", "Advertisement" or "Partnership") and visually separated from organic editorial content. We do not run unlabeled advertorials — advertising dressed up to look like news.
3. Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure
Our editorial team and contributing analysts may not use unpublished coverage for personal gain, and may not trade on the basis of a story before it is published. When a piece concerns an asset in which the author or the organization has a direct interest, that interest is disclosed plainly within the content. Potential conflicts are managed with transparency; when in doubt, we choose to disclose.
4. Source Protection and Unnamed Sources
We protect our sources of information responsibly. We rely on unnamed sources only when the public interest requires it and the information can be corroborated by other means; where possible, we explain to the reader why a source remains unnamed. Our source-protection commitment covers not revealing the identity of anyone promised confidentiality. Our detailed approach to the use of unnamed sources is set out in our editorial policy.
5. Commitment to Corrections
When we make a mistake, we correct it transparently. When a factual error is identified, the content is updated; for material corrections the page shows an "Updated" status and the date of the update. We do not hide errors — we make corrections visible. For the details of our corrections process: Corrections Policy
6. Viewpoint Diversity
We do not claim there is a single correct narrative about the cryptocurrency ecosystem. We aim to reflect bullish and bearish views, the perspectives of different analysts and experts, and the multiple plausible interpretations of a given development in a balanced way. On contested topics we give space to opposing arguments; we take care to preserve a diversity of views so readers can reach their own judgment.
7. Use of AI and Editorial Oversight
Part of our editorial workflow is AI-assisted and is carried out under human editorial oversight and review. Our publishing standards, quality framework and ultimate responsibility rest with a real editorial team. Our approach here is detailed in our editorial policy.Editorial Policy
