BlackRock Launches Bitcoin ETF in Europe: iShares Bitcoin ETP Now Available with Low Fees

In a significant development for the cryptocurrency sector, BlackRock has officially introduced its Bitcoin ETF in the European market as of March 25th. Known as iShares Bitcoin ETP, this new offering is positioned under two distinct tickers: IB1T GY on the German Xetra Exchange and IB1T FP on the Pan-European Exchange. Notably, the ETF features a competitive fee structure, set at 0.25% but temporarily reduced to 0.15% until December 31, 2025. Hailing from Switzerland, the fund is being closely monitored by industry experts.

Bloomberg’s Senior ETF Analyst, Eric Balchunas, highlighted the strategic launch, asserting that BlackRock’s entry into the European market positions the ETF advantageously, combining liquidity, reduced costs, and a reputable brand. He remarked, “Despite Europe’s resilience to speculative ETFs, this product could captivate investor interest. Observers should remain vigilant as its performance unfolds.”
