Brooklyn Podcaster TJ Stone Sentenced to 45 Months for Cryptocurrency Fraud Involving $2 Million Scam

The recent sentencing of Brooklyn-based podcaster Thomas John Sfraga, known as “TJ Stone,” underscores the ongoing challenges in the cryptocurrency sector. On March 15, a US Federal Court imposed a 45-month prison term for Sfraga, convicting him of telecommunications fraud and mandating the forfeiture of $1,337,700. According to the Justice Department, Sfraga deceived investors out of nearly $2 million between 2016 and 2022, exploiting both the cryptocurrency market and real estate investments. He had assured one investor that his fictitious cryptocurrency wallet could yield a 60% return in just three months, yet redirected the pooled funds to settle personal debts instead. Furthermore, he misrepresented his business operations, perpetuating the fraud.
