On September 19, according to Xinhua News Agency, the Chongqing Public Security Bureau’s Liangjiang New District Branch successfully unraveled a significant virtual currency theft case amounting to approximately 400,000 yuan, resulting in the arrest of three individuals. This incident came to light in late June 2024, after the Tiangongdian Police Station of the Liangjiang New District Branch received a report from a local technology company, which claimed a loss of over 2.6 million BLAST tokens from their account.

Through meticulous analysis of transaction patterns and capital flows, law enforcement officers swiftly apprehended the suspects identified as Yang, Wu, and Sheng. The subsequent investigation revealed that all three were former employees of the victim technology company. They had exploited their job positions to introduce malicious code into the company’s computers, thereby compromising the virtual wallet address and private key password.

On the evening of June 26, upon the company’s receipt of the official BLAST tokens, the suspects promptly transferred the tokens to a previously set-up wallet, subsequently converting and distributing the stolen assets. Presently, the suspects are in custody, and the case continues to undergo further investigation.
