COINOTAG News, April 28th – In a significant development within the Ethereum ecosystem, Tomasz K. Stańczak, Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation, has clarified misconceptions surrounding the EVM Object Format (EOF). He emphasized that the ongoing discussions about EOF are not connected to the upcoming Pectra upgrade, scheduled for release on May 7th. The Pectra upgrade will proceed without EOF, contrary to earlier reports suggesting its inclusion.
Furthermore, the EOF improvement proposal aims to enhance the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) by introducing modifications designed to streamline smart contract development. Notably, this upgrade could potentially disrupt existing smart contracts, given that it is tailored to optimize the user experience for developers employing Solidity and Vyper. Developers will have the flexibility to select from multiple EVM versions, thereby supporting diverse deployment strategies for decentralized applications (DApps).
