COINOTAG reported on September 17 that Alex Mashinsky, the former CEO of Celsius, has requested subpoenas for six former employees to provide testimony in his defense. Mashinsky, who was apprehended last year, faces charges of customer fraud and providing misleading information about the company’s profitability. Prosecutors allege he could potentially serve over 100 years in prison. In a memorandum submitted to the New York District Court, Mashinsky’s attorney argued for the testimonies of key figures including Celsius’ Chief Financial Officer and Chief Revenue Officer. Notably, some of these witnesses are currently residing outside of the United States, which complicates their appearance. The legal document emphatically stated that Mashinsky never intended to harm anyone, highlighting the importance of these testimonies to his case.
