COINOTAG News reported on September 27 that Bitcoin mining firm Hut 8 has announced the successful revenue generation from its new GPU as a service (GPUaaS) venture. The innovative service enables clients to lease GPU computing power for demanding tasks, including AI processing. Hut 8 collaborates with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and AdvizeX, utilizing its subsidiary Highrise AI to craft and deploy advanced computing clusters. This five-year partnership involves a blend of fixed infrastructure fees and a revenue-sharing deal with an undisclosed AI cloud developer. The GPUaaS infrastructure operates out of a Tier 3 data center in Chicago, featuring multiple HPE Cray supercomputers integrated with 1,000 NVIDIA H100 GPUs. According to Hut 8 CEO Asher Genoot, the launch of GPUaaS signifies a diversification of the company’s computational capabilities, which now encompass AI computing, Bitcoin mining, and traditional cloud services.
