Surf, a crypto-focused AI platform, closed a $15 million financing round led by Pantera Capital with participation from Coinbase Ventures and Digital Currency Group. The firm trialed an invite-only launch in July and opened to the public in September, reporting over 300,000 users and 1 million search results.

Co-founder Li notes Surf can answer crypto questions across fundamentals to deep technical topics, with about 80% of users not being industry professionals and the remaining 20% from VC firms, exchanges, and crypto institutions.

Revenue is reported in the multi-million range with a goal of $10 million by end-2026. The subscription model charges $15 to $399 per month; a free tier provides limited daily questions. The team remains under 30 employees.

On the competitive front, Li lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Grok as primary peers. A benchmark co-authored with Princeton University places Surf’s crypto-task performance at roughly four times that of ChatGPT and Grok.
